River Mountains trail loop comes up as permanently closed on the new Google Maps. Is this an error?

Have not seen or heard this anywhere else. No trail not closed.
Are talking maps on this web page or Google in general.?
      Thanks.

Is this trail good for inline skating?

Yes, It’s great for inline skating! We’ve seen many skaters on the trail. Keep in mind that there are several steep inclines and declines to deal with so be careful!

Does anyone have any details on the less than clearly marked “detour” around the closed section near Racetrack Road? I like the trail because it get me off the less-than-“bicycle friendly” streets of Las Vegas. Kind of disappointing to have a detour that dumps you back onto streets and then the detour signs disappear leaving you on your own. Is this a recent temporary closure due to the recent flash floods?

This detour is due to a resurfacing project being done by the City of Henderson. The trail is marked for the detour which should put you back on the trail near Athens and Lake Mead. The project is being done in 2 phases. The first phase which is nearly complete, runs from the SNWA plant near Burkholder Road to Ithaca Road. The second phase will run from Ithaca to Lake Mead. This section should be complete by the end of October.

      Hope this answers your questions.

      Ron

The River Mountains Loop Trail is 35 miles around. If you intend to ride, walk or skate the trail make sure you bring plenty of water and nutrition along.

Used to ride this all the time when I lived in Vegas🚴‍♀️🚴‍♀️

We rode the trail Sunday, May 7,2023. The entire loop. All 34 miles, no closures, No detours. It was a beautiful day on the trail!😎🚲☀️ There were so many riders, mostly on the Henderson side.

What are they building?

Is the construction completed?

Is the trail open now???
